Designing women’s and children’s wear with an emphasis on the influence of vintage fashion on modern trends. Exploring how elements from past eras can be reimagined to create contemporary, yet timeless pieces that resonate with today’s consumers. Additionally, dedication to custom couture for women of all ages and sizes for every occasion, with a particular focus on promoting inclusivity within the industry. Krissy aims to ensure that fashion remains accessible, empowering, and representative of diverse body types and personal styles.
Professional Experience
Krissy Huffman Carter is a seasoned fashion designer and garment production expert with over nine years of experience in the fashion industry. Her career spans a diverse range of roles, from couture design to large-scale manufacturing management. Krissy’s background includes working as a designer for Michigan’s first Fashion Incubator, where she played a key role in fostering emerging talent and showcasing her designs. As a former production manager at Detroit Sewn, she streamlined manufacturing processes for various brands, overseeing everything from pattern development to final garment production.
Krissy has also served as a sample maker for various designers, further honing her expertise in high-quality craftsmanship. Her work has been showcased at Midwest Fashion Week, where she gained recognition for her innovative designs and attention to detail. In addition to her fashion industry roles, Krissy has worked in the costume department at the Henry Ford Museum, where she contributed to historically accurate costume production for museum programs. She also lent her creative skills to making wigs for special events at Greenfield Village, blending her love of theater with fashion.
Currently, Krissy is the Chief Operating Officer of her own brand and production facility, Studyus Monday, where she continues to work with designers and clients on bringing innovative fashion ideas to life. Her professional journey is marked by a commitment to quality, creativity, and inclusivity in fashion.
