Cristina Phillips
Adjunct Faculty
BFA: Entertainment Arts Animation, College for Creative Studies (2016-2020)
Cristina is extremely interested in making animation education accessible for all audiences. She wants students to push themselves beyond the “industry standard” and bring their own perspectives and skillsets to light, making art they love while still showcasing their skills and niche focuses. She is a big supporter of experimental animation techniques, as well as introducing puppet rigging into animation to help guide short film storytelling.
Professional Experience
Cristina has studio experience in TV animation at Bento Box Entertainment, having worked mainly as a 2D Harmony Animator (both rigged and hand-drawn). She was briefly borrowed by their design department to work as a Character and Background Designer, and has worked on: Koala Man, Mulligan, Paradise PD: Season 3, and The Prince. During her freelance years, she has experience pitching and producing an official Game Grumps Animated segment. Recently, she has joined the production team for several music videos and award winning live action short films, credited as Production Assistant and Animator in partnership with Saturn Hex Media, an Atlanta-based collective of filmmakers.
