Alorē Niemi
Adjunct Faculty/Lecturer
B.F.A. in Fashion Accessory Design, Minor in Fibers & Textiels; College for Creative Studies
Alorē has dedicated her design practice to tackling the nuances of “sustainable” fashion. We are in a climate crisis, and she believes the way to lessen the footprint of fashion is to keep sourcing and production local, use already existing and natural textiles, and honoring every hand along the supply chain.
Professional Experience
Since graduating from the College for Creative Studies, Alorē has worked with many brands to help design and produce accessories from Detroit, New York City, to Vancouver and beyond. She is working on establishing her brand, Worst Lady, crafting up-cycled experimental pieces out of her studio in Detroit. Alorē has a variety of clientele, assisting with technical design, patterning, and hand-making everything from handbags to upholstery. Her teaching journey has just begun, with the College for Creative Studies, Pensole Lewis College, and teaching a workshop at MOCAD.
