April 10, 2019Fashion Accessories Design Students Secure Summer Internships with Top Brands
Each year, students at the College for Creative Studies look forward to securing internships with top employers around the country and the world. 2019 is no exception, as CCS faculty, facilities and resources give these young professionals a considerable advantage.
In its fourth year, a number of students in CCS Fashion Accessories Design (FAD) — the only program of its kind in the Midwest — have secured a number of summer internships with global fashion industry brands. Many of the students were hand selected by company representatives at CCS’s first ever Fashion Symposium held early in April. During the symposium, representatives from a number of top tier fashion and accessories companies, met with students and have the chance to review their designs. Some of the companies in attendance included Ralph Lauren, Tory Burch, Anna Sui, B. May Bags, Office of Angela Scott, Adidas and more. Here is a sampling of FAD students and where they will be interning this summer:
Junior Amineh Ahmad was selected from more than 1,300 applicants for a summer internship with global brand Ralph Lauren in New York City. While still a sophomore, Ahmad was profiled in CCS’s “Work Studies” video series, which can be viewed here.
Junior Kelsey Coleman was selected for a summer internship at Fossil Group, the American fashion brand and watch manufacturer, in Richardson, Texas.
Junior Mariana Sanchez will be working in New York City at Tory Burch, an American lifestyle brand known for color, print and eclectic details, including shoes, handbags, accessories, beauty, home and watches.
Sophomores Ava Kaloustian and Alore Niemi will spend most of their summer in New York City as accessory design interns at Calvin Klein.
Stay tuned for a closer look at the work and influences of these young designers.
