Graduate Color and Materials Design Chair and Associate Professor Sally Erickson Wilson was selected to be on the judging panel for the Biodesign Sprint Challenge.

This new challenge is in collaboration with Google, and participants will be working on a month-long design Sprint, looking into ways to reduce carbon emissions, increase biodiversity and bring positive change to the environment and people.

The Biodesign Sprint Challenge is a product of the Biodesign Challenge — a project that has been running for six years and combines art, design, and biotechnology to find solutions.

Prompts developed for the Biodesign Sprint Challenge call for practical ideas that can be turned into commercial reality. The challenge invites students, scientists, engineers, artists, designers, and hobbyists to join in on the challenge.

The challenge is set for the Fall of 2022.
