The College for Creative Studies (CCS) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2021 CCS Redmond Design Award, which was awarded to three Craft & Material Studies students. Seniors Toomas Toomepuu and Enrico Battan were both awarded the $10,000 Vision and Excellence Awards and junior Riley Binkow was awarded the $5,000 Emerging Talent Award.
Each recipient will receive an award sponsored by Beth Redmond, a bicoastal art director, collector and enthusiast, who opened the competition to all Craft & Material Studies’ students at CCS. The awards recognize talent, artistic vision, design sense, and material usage.
“As part of my ongoing commitment to emerging artists and students in the contemporary design world, I’m happy to support and help foster students’ creative vision for the future.” says Redmond.
The work of the Redmond Design Award recipients will be on display in CCS’s 2021 Virtual Student Exhibition, which celebrates the accomplishments of CCS students, faculty and staff, showcasing more than 3,000 pieces of artwork.
“Gifts like the Redmond Design Award greatly impact the lives of our students by helping to build their creative confidence and allowing them the opportunity to share their art with one of the world’s preeminent art collectors, Beth Redmond. CCS truly appreciates the investment Beth is making in the next generation of change makers.” says Don Tuski, President of CCS
