The Detroit Scarab Club is hosting CCS alumna Lois Teicher solo exhibition, “Lois Teicher: Woman of Steel.” The Detroit News refers to the show as “electrifying,” and asks “Why doesn’t downtown Detroit boast more large-scale Lois Teicher sculptures?”
Born in Haiti and raised in Miami, Serge Gay, the San Francisco-based artist and CCS Illustration alumnus wanted to compose a “love letter” to the mid-century modern heritage and retro revival that Palm Springs is known for.
Robert Schefman, contemporary American artist and CCS professor, is having a solo exhibition, “SECRETS,” at the David Klein Gallery from November 8th – December 21st, 2019.

“Sit Down Somewhere,” Sydney G James’ first solo exhibition, opens to the public on October 12th from 6-9pm at Playground Detroit.
Inspired, which features the work of CCS Ceramics section head Ebintenyefa Baralaye, is an exhibition at Pewabic Pottery paying homage to co-founder Mary Chase Perry Stratton who played a significant role in the development of the ceramics programs at what is now the College of Creative Studies.
