INTERIOR DESIGN

Interior design is about more than four walls and a floor. It’s about creating environments that support and respond to the way people live—at home, at work, and as part of a community.

The Program

The Interior Design program at CCS emphasizes concept development and creative thinking. Students work collaboratively, developing a personal aesthetic sense as well as an understanding of client needs. They also learn how to integrate research and current trends with environment function, design, and sustainability.

Free Interior Design Workshop

Students in Interior Design have the opportunity to experience real-world projects and are involved in community redevelopment in Detroit with industry partners. Graduates are highly sought-after and the program routinely achieves 100% post-graduate employment.

The Interior Design department boasts industry-standard resources, including a 3-D printer, large-format presentation plotter, materials library and Revit architectural software — mirror a working design studio.
