Federal Student Aid Penalties for Drug Law Violations
Federal law previously disqualified any student who was convicted of possession or sale of a controlled substance from receiving federal financial aid. Effective July 1, 2021, that law has been reversed. Any student who was previously determined to be ineligible, whether for a limited time, or indefinitely, unless ordered by the court, is once again eligible for federal financial aid.

Retention Rates

Official retention rates are based on the percentage of full-time, first-time undergraduate students seeking a bachelor’s degree who return the following fall and these figures are reported to the U. S. Department of Education on an annual basis through the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS). The information can be viewed on the College Navigator website as well.

According to the IPEDS Trend Generator, the national average retention rate (all four-year colleges) for full-time, first-time students entering Fall 2022 returning Fall 2023 is 76.5%.

Official graduation rates are based on the percentage of full-time, first-time degree-seeking undergraduate students who finish their degree with 150% of the “normal time” (6 years) and these figures are reported to the U. S. Department of Education on an annual basis through the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS). This information can be viewed on the College Navigator website as well.

According to the IPEDS Trend Generator, the national average six-year graduation rate (all four-year colleges) for full-time, first-time students entering Fall 2017 and graduating by 2023 is 61%.

Transfer Out Data

Fall 2023, a total of 342 new students began their studies at CCS. Fall 2024 enrollment data indicates that 63 did not return. According to National Student Clearinghouse records, 12 of the 63 transferred to another higher education institution.

Career and Post-Graduation Data

All CCS students and alumni have access to the Office of Partnerships’ Career Development team. The Office of Partnerships Career Development Team prepares students for life after graduation by offering guidance on resume, CV and cover letter preparation, interview skills and job search techniques. They inform students about various career paths open to artists and designers and schedule on-campus recruitment events that bring companies to our students. In addition, the online Job Book allows students to search job postings and internships, as well as upload their resume and sample work for employers to review.
